The shirt which you apply the transfer has to be at least 50% polyester. 100% cotton shirts will not work because there is no poly for the inks to adhere to. Shirts with less than 60 percent polyester will have a faded, vintage look to them. This type of transfer ink dyes the fabric and don’t leave a heavy feel on the of the shirt similar to vinyl. Transfers are more vibrant when you use on white or light-colored shirts and when there is white is on the transfer it will become the color of the shirt. Because the transfer becomes part of the shirt if you are using colored shirts you may see a difference in the color of the print.
